PATTY GROSS STANFORD

Patty Joann Gross Stanford, 73, of Yukon went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at her home. Born February 14, 1943 in Atwell she was the daughter of the late Joe Gross and Mandy Brewster Gross. She attended Big Creek High School, and was of the Holiness Faith. She loved to do crafts, cooking and gardening. She loved her dog and cats. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nellie Thompson and Della Mullins; five brothers, Richard, Herman, Jack, Carl and Basil Gross. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Chester Stanford of the home; her sister, Emma Jean Griffith and husband Rev. Lacy Griffith of Yukon; two special nephews, Todd Griffith and Dwayne “Bubby” Griffith; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, January 17 at 12 Noon at the Yukon #2 Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Lacy Griffith and Tim Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Sanford Cemetery on Compton Mountain, near Whitewood, VA. Friends may call at the church Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Noon. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The Douglas Mortuary of Welch and War is serving the family.
