Neil Anderson McCall, 76, of Mohegan passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016, in Welch Community Hospital. Born July 9, 1939 in Mohegan he was the son of the late Shade McCall and Nellie Dunnigan McCall. He was a retired plumber with 31 ½ years of service with the McDowell County Board of Education. He was a 1957 graduate of Welch High School, and was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Navy. He attended Trinity Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church in Welch. He loved to hunt and fish. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Ann Akers. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Wanda Sue White McCall of the home; a son, Neil Allen McCall and companion Deanna Dewalt of Reidsville, NC; a daughter, Becky Green and husband Mike of Dobson, NC; a brother, Jack McCall of Mohegan; grandchildren, Michael Green and Brittany Childress, Matthew Green and Travis Green all of Dobson, Michael Dewalt of Reidsville, Laura Rose and husband Kenny of Coalwood, Kierston McCall and Olivia Sirbaugh both of Mohegan; great grandchildren, Kaydence and Brayden Greene, and one on the way, Piper Rose. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, March 29, at 12 p.m. in Trinity Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church, Welch, with the Rev. Dan Pruitt officiating. Burial will be follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1144, Iaeger. Friends may call at the church Monday from 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Family and friends will servce as pallbearers. The Douglas Mortuary of Welch is serving the McCall family.
