Leonard Martin Rose, 78, of Roderfield went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 15, 2017 in Welch Community Hospital. Born June 25, 1938 in Mohegan he was the son of the late Alfred Rose and Margaret York Rose. He was a retired coalminer. He was a member of the Ark of Safety in Roderfield. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Allen Rose and Leonard “Wayne” Rose Sr. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Maxie Whistlehunt Rose of the home; a son, Clinton Rose of Princeton; a daughter, Patricia Ann Rose of Roderfield; four brothers, Clifford, Darrell, Alan, and James Rose; seven sisters, Loretta, Jean, Hope, Wanda, Mary, Carol and Lois; and 5 grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Ark of Safety in Roderfield with the Revs. Gene Ball and Danny Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Friends may call at the church Tuesday after 6 p.m. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The Douglas Mortuary of Welch is in charge of the arrangements.
