Laverne Virginia Allen, 67, of Welch went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2021 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. Born November 19, 1953 in Capels she was the daughter of the late Walter Lee Mullins and Virginia Mullins. She attended the Hemphill Capels School, and attended the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church on Lower McDowell St., Welch. She enjoyed her dog LuLu and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Joe Mullins and a sister Faye Peaks. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Clayton Allen of Welch; a son, David Michael Allen Sr. and his companion April of Welch; two granddaughters, Melody Allen of Rocky Top, VA, Autumn Allen of Hemphill; one special granddaughter, Isabella Mitchell of Hemphill, who she loved as her own and called her “Sunshine”; one special grandson who she loved dearly, David Michael Allen II of the home; two brothers, Terry Mullins and Winfred Mullins of Hemphill; two sisters, Brenda Lambert of Big Sandy, Marie Brady and husband Tink of North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Ralph Peaks of Welch; two special nieces Patricia Mitchell of Hemphill and Michelle Mitchell of Princeton. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 12 Noon from the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church on Lower McDowell Street in Welch with Pastor Ola Gay Mullins and Pastor J. B. Robinette officiating. Entombment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Bluewell. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Pallbearers will be Jo Jo Mullins, Joey Mullins, Bubby Mullins, Lacy Mullins, Brandon Craft, and Danny Craft. Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, masks are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced. Group size must be held to 25 people or less.
