James Harold Bowman, 55, of Berwind Lake Road, War passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at his home. Born December 26, 1960 in Jacksonville, MS, he was the son of the late Melba Jean McCormick Deutsch and Frank James Bowman. James worked in the Army reserves before moving to North Carolina where he was a diesel mechanic. He moved back home to War and retired as Berwind Lake Groundskeeper. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mona McCormick. Those left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Lori Wray and husband Larry of McClure, PA, and Donna Ramsey and husband Mike of War; his uncles and aunts, Lennye and Gail McCormick of Gibsonville, NC, and Phyllis Krahel and husband John of Beavertown, PA; nieces and nephews, Buddy and Amanda Beavers of Lenoir City, TN, James Beavers and Jesse Beavers both of War, Megan Beavers of Yukon, Phaedre Wray and husband Eric of Olympia, WA, Billy Wray of Lewistown, PA, James Wray of Bellefonte, PA, MacKenzie Ramsey and wife Victoria of War, and John Ramsey and wife Kassandra of Gary He left behind many young great nieces and nephews, and many special friends, including Peggy Burnett of TN, and Ruby Gilbert of Caretta. The family will hold a memorial service to honor his life on Sunday, May 22, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in War with the Rev. Spencer Oxford officiating. The Douglas Funeral Home of Welch and War is serving the family.
