James Lacy Blevins, 72, of Welch, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at his residence. Born October 8, 1948 in Coalwood, he was the son of the late Carson Lacy Blevins and Edith Thelma Walls Blevins. James was a retired coal miner with the Olga Coal Company. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie King; three half-brothers, Ray, Buddy and Carson Blevins. Those left to cherish his memories are one son, Mark Blevins of Beckley; one daughter, Chrissy Marie Taylor of Welch; three sister, Shirley Mullins of Winston-Salem, NC, Linda Collins of Caretta and Betty Leach of Conover, NC; one half sister, Betty Blevins of Louisiana and a special niece, Shelia Addair of Caretta. Following the wishes of the deceased the body has been cremated and there will be no visitation or funerals services at this time. The Douglas Mortuary in Welch is assisting the Blevins family.
