HILDA V. HOCKETT Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Hilda V. Hockett, 79, of Caretta, WV, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at her residence. Born May 4, 1943 in War, WV, she was the daughter of the late Henry Ambrice Thomas and Gladys Christian Thomas. Hilda was a homemaker and a member of the War Advent Christian Church in War and resident of Caretta for many years. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph “Bobby” Hockett; brothers, John, Dale, David “Dockie”, Willie, Eddie and J.D. Thomas; and sisters, Mary Thomas, Geneva White and Yvonne Sawyers. Those left to cherish her memories are three daughters, Cara Mays and husband Chuck of London, KY, Naida Hayslette of War, and Natasha Shaffer and husband Dan of Caretta; one sister, Donna Jean Thomas of the home; one grandson, Garrett Mays of Jackson, GA and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 12 Noon from the War Advent Christian Church in War with Pastor Danny Cyphers, officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Friends may call at the church Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
