HATTIE HAGERMAN

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our sweet, dear mother and grandmother, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 8, 2017 at the age of 97. She was born on April 28, 1919, the daughter of the late Jacob Calloway and Mary Horn Wagner, and the wife of the late Joshua Hagerman. She was of Pentecostal Faith. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son Jack Hagerman, and daughter Judy Carol Lowe; brothersJarvey, Uless, Harvey, Alvis, and Elmer Wagner; one sister Lethia White; grandchildren James Uless Hagerman, Mark Daniel Hagerman, David Hart, Bruce Hagerman, James Russel Hagerman, and Alvis Bowles; great grandchildren, Samantha Lucus, Joey Harrison, James Adam Williams and great great grandchild Chandler Marushia. She married her husband Joshua at the age of 16. From this union were born 13 loving children, 54 grandchildren, 110 great grandchildren, and 57 great great grandchildren. I cannot find the words to tell you how much she was loved by all. She was more than just a mother to us, she was a living presence and each memory brings her very close to us that held her dear. She never had lonesome hours, for her children included her daily in their lives. They were all so good to her, making her every desire the concern of them all. Her patience and kindness, and the faith to press on, has drawn admiration from all that knew her. A better mother to us all there could never have been. Her face we love so dear, her voice we love to hear, far away from us now, but not to far away from our thoughts to reach. Memories are one gift that God has given us. She was loved by everyone that knew her. What is written here may soon be forgotten, but the sweet memories of her will linger in our hearts forever. She is survived by 11 children, Herman Hagerman and wife Patricia of Tazewell, Va., Yvonne Mullins and husband Tommy of Jolo, W.Va., Ann Gladwell of Daleville, Va., Leonard Hagerman and wife Eva of Skygusty W.Va., Agnes Duncan and husband John of Floyd, Va., Larry Hagerman and wife Kathy of Falls Mills, Va., Margenna Rash and husband Randy of Roanoke,Va., Charlene Taylor and husband Robert of Vinton, Va., Bruce Hagerman and wife Jennifer of Bluefield W.Va., Dwight Hagerman of Rock W.Va., and Glen Hagerman of Rock, W. Va. The funeral will be held at 11:00am, Monday Feb. 13th, at the Living Waters Fellowship Church in Bluefield W.Va. with Pastor Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Hagerman Family Cemetery at Falls Mills, Va. Friends may call from 6-9:00pm on the evenings of February 11th & 12th at the church, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers: Johnny Duncan, Jack Hagerman, Ronald Lee Presnell, Robbie Hagerman, David Hagerman, Michael Harrison, Billy Hagerman, Josh Hagerman, Josh Beckner, and Bradley Leach. The Douglas Mortuary of Welch is in charge of the arrangements.
